The story

The Asante Cultural and Traditional Institute (ACTI) continues to advance its mission of preserving, promoting, and transmitting Asante cultural heritage through education and engagement with traditional authorities. In line with this commitment, the Institute welcomed a delegation of chiefs and elders from Ntotroso to its office for a cultural education and sensitization engagement aimed at deepening their understanding and appreciation of Asante customs, traditions, and values.

The visit provided an opportunity for the traditional leaders to engage with ACTI on the importance of safeguarding cultural heritage and ensuring that traditional knowledge is preserved and passed on to future generations.

The engagement focused on promoting a better understanding of the customs, beliefs, values, and traditional institutions that form the foundation of Asante society. Through such educational initiatives, ACTI seeks to encourage traditional leaders and community members to appreciate the historical significance of cultural practices and their continued relevance in contemporary society.

As custodians of tradition, chiefs and elders play a vital role in maintaining cultural identity, upholding customary practices, and guiding their communities in matters relating to tradition and heritage. Their participation in cultural education is therefore essential to ensuring that authentic knowledge is preserved and accurately communicated to younger generations.
